2019 Riesling
A golden straw colored wine with outstanding acid/sugar balance. Don't be frightened by the higher residual sugar! As with the other 2019 Rieslings, this one has great complexity- aromas and flavors remind me of fresh apricots, orange, spice and tropical citrus notes. This wine should really develop beautifully over the next decade.
A total of 4.13 tons of estate grown grapes was harvested on October 23, 2019 with 20.2 brix natural sugar, 9.2 g/l TA and a 2.84 pH. The grapes were destemmed, pressed and inoculated with yeast. A cool fermentation at 57-59 degrees lasted for 21 days. The wine is cold and heat stabilized and filtered. It has 12% alcohol, 9.2 g/l TA, a 2.78 pH and 3.0% residual sugar. 236 cases were produced.
